Field Hockey Picks Up Third Straight Win With A 1-0 Shutout Over Lehigh

BETHLETHLEM, Pa.— Sophomore Sarah McCarthy (Harrisville, R.I.) scored the game-winning goal to lift the èצӰÏñ field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Lehigh Saturday afternoon.

With the win, èצӰÏñ improves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the Patriot League while Lehigh falls to 3-5 overall and 0-1 in league play. The Raiders have won three straight games.

McCarthy scored her fourth goal of the season at 7:54 of the first half off of a corner.

The Mountainhawks outshot the Raiders 12-5 while Lehigh had the edge on penalty corners with an 8-4 advantage.

èצӰÏñ freshman goalkeeper Jacque DeMarco (Hudson, Ohio) finished with six saves and Lehigh’s Jeanine Hoff and Meghan Gove split time in goal and each player made two stops.

èצӰÏñ travels to Rider on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 12 p.m.
